Being a human has got to be my biggest mistake. By admitting I'm not perfect, I have given the tremendous pressure of finding a solution to everyone's problems all by myself, to someone way more worthy. It has taken me thus far in life (Almost 24 years) to realize it's not all about you (myself), and no matter who comes into and out of my life with whatever bullshit they can drag in, it will be my reaction that determines my future. Positive or negative, I have always tried to take things easy and find some brightness in which to direct my response. Only now, after some soul searching following my last Final in April, am I beggining to see why I chose to look in that way. See, responding to negativity in the same manner doesn't do anyone any good, hindering my and everyone else's ability to succeed. Negativity is endless and inevitable today, the best reaction you can have is to wish them luck in their negativity and go on loving and being cool with everyone you meet and hope that that person has someone close enough and kind enough to bring this unpleasant personality defect to their attention. Their is a new theory on success I just heard about from a motivational speaker hired to pump us up before the Calgary Stampede started up two days ago; he said the formula is “e + r = o” or EVENTS + REACTION = OUTCOME. Kind of simple in that, yes, my reaction to the situation will obviously create an outcome, but furthermore... how your reaction is on a scale, negative being minus and anything positive being higher, and thus more valuable proves... one thing. If you reaction is true and positive enough, you can turn a negative situation or confrontation around with a simple reaction... very true, and sometimes requires the person reacting to compensate [sic] some of their success in order to have the result positive rather than two negatives [which] just bury the both of you where no one but Arthur and Andersen will ever find you.
