>> Long live Joe Strummer. I'm done, see you all next year.

>> I don't know how Sakebomb found this guy, but Lloyd Rice is an idea-machine just waiting for the right person to fill out his patent forms. Check Production Days an account of his days working on Spike Jonze's Adaptation as told in his journals. Look closely and you'll find a stunning job of acting by FOB, Greg Shewchuk...

* SIX Golden Globe nominations, count 'em... SIX.

>> There are multitudes of motorcycles in Tokyo and to an outsider like myself, they seem pretty exotic. I recognized parts and pieces of them, but the combinations made for some pretty crazy hybrids of models we're used to stateside. Tokyo Vroom.

12/17/02

>> Back. More tomorrow.

12/10/02

>> Bend is out. I'm headed to Japan until the 17th. Here's the reason:

Andy Mueller and I will be in Tokyo, Japan opening an artshow with Jeremy Fish (you know his drawings from Slap magazine) at Beams T in Harajuku...
on Friday the 13th.

The show was curated by
Matt Riveli of Upperplayground and Fifty24SF in San Francisco. There will be custom tees available from each artist (through Beams and Upperplayground) and I also designed a custom low and hi-top shoe (very limited production) for the event.

That's about all we know. Details are a bit vague as we get on the plane this morning. I guess you'll have to wait for reports after the 17th when we get back. Check here or at Mueller's
Ohio Girl.
Thanks,
Andy

>> Happy birthday to FOB, Josh Caffrey, of december9.net. That's pretty clever Josh -- people don't forget your birthday do they?

>>
Check out Brit, Lee Basford's, site in progress. You may remember his name from Level Magazine and a few Bend covers. Journalist, photographer, painter, designer, busy man...

>>
Tomorrow is my day with Lee Walton. I'll be on a plane to Tokyo for the first time, wondering...

12/03/02

>> This is a great link sent over this morning by FOB, Porous Walker. Clock. Click around on the site as well... fluidness on the web is becoming a reality.

>> Spike Jonze premiere's his new film, Adaptation, in LA tonight. General release on Dec 8th. Go this weekend.

11/26/02

>> Our congratulations go out to Andy Mueller and his fiancé, Jennifer "Sprout" Pitt (Brad Pitt's baby sister). They will wed this Friday, November 29th in the remotes of Tennessee (to avoid media). After that they sunbathe in Hawaii then fly to Tokyo where Mueller will join Jenkins for a show at Beams T in Harajuku, which opens December 13th. International Jet Set.

>> Speaking of Jenkins (Am I fooling anyone out there? Everyone knows who writes this drivel, right?), according the Sk8 On The Wall website, he "founds with Spike Jonze."

>> Bend will now give props to 3 skate sites that we like. Support 'em if and when you can:

> Skateboarding Sucks (it really does)
> SkateNerd (we already mentioned them this month -- so what)
> Nocturnal Skate Shop (Kerry Getz owns this with Tim Quinn and Lindsay Condefer)

>> The new Strength Magazine is hitting right now. Someone you know is interviewed inside. Try and get a copy of the limited edition cover... HA! Boards and tees by the same artist will also hit soon. Bug the guys at Strength for editions/copies.

11/22/02

>> The 222 Gallery now has an oline store -- that's not a big deal really, another store, right? But what they are selling is pretty cool. The boards from the "Separations" show are up there for your viewing -- or purchasing -- pleasure (too bad you can't click for enlargements, though). Bend's personal favorite is "Pieces of the City" by Skatenerd's Josh Nims.

>> Cory McAbee has new fans here. An excellent quick-bio-pic by the folks at Coudal. Thank you Coudal, McAbee is a refreshing character. Also, remember to check out Andy Mueller, the first subject in the Slowtron Western State series. And TNT McFetridge is up next, so bookmark it.
