DESTINATION OF THE MOMENT >> Buff Monster.
NOW 1/31/02 again...
>> FOB, Mark Lewman, swears you should tune into Late Night With David Letterman tonight to see/hear Phantom Planet. You might recognize the drummer, Jason Schwartzman, from the film "Rushmore." These guys have been playing together for years -- since their early teens -- and have been under the wing of the Chicago-suave Mr. Daniel Field the entire time. If this show breaks them, which Lew swears it will, Field deserves a hug, a pat on the back and a couple weeks of sleep.
NOW 1/31/02
>> The cover, by Emmet Jenkins, for 1/31/02 is supposed to be a simple animation (dhtml)... but we are programming dolts and so it only seems to work in Net 4.7. Argh.

>> Friend of Bend (FOB), Mark Lewman is traveling the country with Mat Hoffman putting the finishing touches on Matt's biography. In addition, he's been busy writing on Black Mayonaise, his novel for Bend. Do you want to read an excerpt? Let us know.
>> Got a really cool paper (actual paper) zine in the mail (actual mail) yesterday : Lycheenaut from Tara Sinn. It's really nice. The issue we received, #4, is about a trip back to Hong Kong by Tara and her boyfriend, Damon. Both were raised in Hong Kong then transplanted to New York. Pretty cool words and images on re-discovery. Check their site, mwah. For those of us who haven't been to Hong Kong, this is a nice insight into the place.
THEN 1/25/02

>> An emotionally powerful piece from Tony Larson, "Strongest Man."
