NOW 12/22/01

>> Okay, we're setting aside the cynisicm for a few days (at least) and forgetting all the loads from the past and present... the problems, trivialities... and enjoying the holidays with our families and friends. Living for NOW.

Much love to you all and may you find grace in 2002. See you then. Love,

Bend Press

THEN 12/20/01

>> Just a reminder.

THEN 12/18/01

>> Got a copy of "Blower : Snowboarding inside Out" today. It may be an advance copy as it is not on the Booth-Clibborn website yet. Very nice piece of work from Jeff Curtes, Jared Eberhardt, Eric Kotch and numerous contributors. It's mostly a photographic chronicle of snowboard culture, but you'll find pages from artists (Hecox, Jenkins, Gonzales, John Copeland, Andy Mueller, Geoff McFetridge and more) and some of the most popular -- or infamous -- graphics and ad campaigns from over the years. Beautifully put together with an embossed cover, varying paper stocks, gatefolds and even a sticker sheet. Good job guys.

>> Lots of shows opening up just before the holidays. This one should be a really good one : "5,000 Trees" at the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco.

"5,000 Trees is a group show including Cheryl Dunn, Jacqueline Humphries, Tony Oursler and Stephen Powers. As downtown New York artists, all four have made and compiled work in response to the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. This show reflects the experiences of the artists as residents, living and working in a changed and devistated New York neighborhood and the direct impact it has had on the commerce and community around them. Included will be video work, drawings, photographs, found objects collage, and a collection of merchandise reflecting post-disaster Americana."

In case you were wondering, sedition is : Behaviour or language that brings about rebellion against the established authority of the state.

Yeah, but triple jointed arms and legs? What's that about?
